Two specific instances come to mind where I thought the ship's crew did the "right" thing for the passengers. First, about 100 passengers did a full-day shore excursion from Malaga, Spain to the Alhambra Fortress in Granada. After our excellent tour, we were promised lunch at one of Granada's best restaurants. The restaurant was lovely, but the quality of the food and service did not come close to what we had grown accustomed to on the Wind Surf. Several passengers complained, and the Wind Surf management acknowledged the problem and quickly issued a credit to our accounts for the lunch. This shore excursion issue was dealt with promptly and generously.
Second, about 50 passengers had flights out of Lisbon before noon at the end of the cruise. Since our tall sailing ship could not sail under the bridge to the cruise ship dock until low tide, the Wind Surf disembarked us and our luggage via tender on the outskirts of Lisbon in the early morning. They also provided a complimentary bus to take us to the airport and credited the accounts of those who had purchased a transfer. This small inconvenience was resolved and left us with final good memories of the ship and her crew.
