Anyone who had sailed Wind Surf prior to 2006 will be in for a few pleasant changes on their next Windstar Cruise.

The ships have always provided passengers with a delightful cruise vacation, but the recent enhancements will be a treat for all who appreciate a cruise line that is constantly seeking to upgrade its cruise experience.

Technology Enhancements
The Wind Surf now has shipwide WiFi Internet access, which I love. It is fun to be able to check your email and surf the Net from your own cabin or from one of the common areas on the ship. Wind Surf even has wireless-enabled laptops for rent. Love to listen to music when at sea? The Wind Surf has iPod Nanos (pre-loaded with music) for complimentary checkout at reception and Bose SoundDocks in each cabin. Finally, the cabins on the Wind Surf all have a DVD player, and there is a good selection of movies in the library.

Cabin Upgrades
In addition to the high-tech enhancements, the Wind Surf has upgraded the mattresses and linens in the cabins and added L'Occitane toiletries. As I said earlier, we loved our cabin, and these "extras" count.

Cuisine Enhancements
Windstar management has enhanced its cuisine by adding 100 menu items from chef Joachim Splichal to its Signature Cuisine. The Bistro has had a face lift, and both restaurants have gotten new tableware. Chef Splichal also added a tantalizing "amuse" at the start of each dinner. Everyone I spoke with on our cruise enjoyed the Wind Surf cuisine.
