When I tell friends how much I love small ship cruising, they almost always ask, "But, what do you DO when the ship is at sea?" When at sea, the Wind Surf is like a luxurious beach resort, but without the sand! For much of the day, passengers are outside on deck. They take a dip in or sit by one of the two salt water pools, relax in the hot tubs, or just enjoy the sun, sea, and breeze from their comfortable lounge chair. Plus, you have the sails! You can read a trashy novel on the deck of the Wind Surf just as easily as on the beach.

For those who have had too much reading or sun, passengers adjourn to the lounges for drinks and conversation with their fellow well-traveled shipmates. Some might play cards or games inside. For special pampering, a trip to the WindSpa for a massage or other treatment might be in order. I always like to get a facial near the end of the cruise to try and conteract some of the wind and sun effects, and it is something I never have the time to do at home.

Many of the Wind Surf passengers are very active, and the large fitness center, with its modern equipment and excercise classes, was a popular activity onboard. The one Wind Surf activity we missed on our cruise was the watersport platform, which cannot be used when the ship is at a dock. If swimming from the ship, kayaking, or water skiing is important to you, be sure to select a Wind Surf itinerary where the ship will be anchored offshore in some ports.
