The 2-mile hike on Carcass Island in the Falklands from Leopard Beach to the settlement was quite interesting, with many geese and penguins along the way. Most of the passengers left the ship behind and joined the hike. We were on one of the last Zodiacs to go ashore, so we could see everyone else spread out along the path to the home of Rob McGill and his family, the owners of the island. It was fun to watch the Hanseatic sail around the island to meet up with us at the end of our hike.

When we reached the McGill settlement, we were treated to tea and delicious cookies. I think everyone enjoyed sitting outside in the beautiful setting of their home, which included palm trees planted by the McGills.
