The next morning, we disembarked from the Seven Seas Mariner, saying good-bye to the lucky 186 people who were doing the 62-day circumnavigation of South America and to the many others who were staying on to Buenos Aires for the next leg of the voyage. Most of the disembarking passengers were on the afternoon non-stop charter back to Miami, where we would spend the night before flying home the next morning.

Before our flight, we had a great bus tour of the city of Manaus. We toured the famous Opera House, the Indian Museum, and Army Zoo. We then enjoyed lunch at Manaus' most famous hotel, the Tropicale, which was near the airport.

Our Amazon adventure was over. We had made new friends and seen a part of the world many people only dream of seeing, and all from one of the most luxurious cruise ships in the world. As the Varig charter flight flew north, we passed over many thousands of square miles of Amazon rain forest, taking our memories of a great cruise home with us.
