Buzios is a typical charming beach town, filled with shops, bars, and restaurants. Buzios is in Brazil, but you could just as easily be in the Caribbean or Mediterranean Seas. Buzios was "discovered" by Brigitte Bardot and her Brazilian boyfriend in the 1960s, and since then it has been considered Brazil's St. Tropez.
We visited Buzios on a Celebrity Infinity cruise that embarked in Buenos Aires, and visited Montevideo, Porto Belo, and Rio de Janeiro before sailing back to Buenos Aires. One of the highlights of the cruise was Rio's Carnaval Samba Parade.
Buzios has several beaches, and many of the Celebrity Infinity passengers took a catamaran or schooner to go island hopping to many of these picturesque sites. Others went on a 4x4 tour across the dunes in nearby Pero Beach or saw the Buzios beaches via an open air trolley bus. We really enjoyed the great shopping in the numerous shops, the wonderful walkway along the beach, and having a cold beer in one of the outdoor restaurants.
