Silversea added a new Observation Lounge forward on deck 9 as part of the Silver Wind's refurbishment near the end of 2008. This new space provides excellent views of the surrounding seas, and also has a nice library of travel books. I especially like the louvered skylights; they provide extra lighting and make the room seem warm and inviting.
The three other lounges on the Silver Wind were updated with new soft goods such as carpeting, wall coverings, and draperies. The Bar on deck 5 is a great place to meet for a before dinner drink, and usually has live music. The Panorama Lounge aft on deck 8 has wonderful piano music at tea time, and is transformed into a disco in the evening. The Humidor is the Silver Wind's smoking and cigar lounge. Guests can also smoke indoors on the starboard side of The Bar and in their suites.
