The Silversea Silver Wind is almost 17,000 tons and carries 298 passengers in 149 cabins, all of which either have a picture window or a private balcony. The all-white ship is lovely, has an excellent profile, and the views from the Observation Lounge forward on deck 9 or the Panorama Lounge on deck 8 are quite good.
Six of these photos were made of the Silver Wind at the dock in Cape Town, South Africa. The Silver Wind docked at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, and many shops, restaurants, and lounges were within easy walking distance, as was the ferry to Robben Island.
The other five photos were taken at our only tender port, Nosby Be, Madagascar. While at Nosy Be, the ship was approached by several curious locals in canoes.
The exciting itinerary for this cruise took us to three other ports in South Africa, Mozambique, Madagascar, Tanzania, and Kenya.
