After time in port sightseeing, shopping, and learning about ancient cultures, a day at sea on the Seven Seas Navigator as she made her way northeast to Fort Lauderdale was a welcome break on our cruise. A mid-size ship like the Navigator does not have all of the onboard activities the mega-liners do. You won't find rock climbing, miniature golf, basketball, or ice skating. However, what the ship lacks in quantity it makes up for in quality.

The high crew to passenger ratio equates to outstanding service and a relaxed rather than a frantic atmosphere. With only a few hundred passengers onboard rather than a few thousand, finding a lounge chair around the pool is no problem. There also was no problem with lines at mealtime, crowds at the reception desk, or finding a quiet place to read a book or just relax and watch the world go by. People who don't constantly want to be entertained usually appreciate sea days on a mid-size or small ship.

Quiet sea days are a good time to explore the ship. Pictures of the Seven Seas Navigator show her modern, but classic decor. The atrium is open and airy, much like that on the Seven Seas Mariner. Since we sailed in warm weather, I enjoyed sitting in the sun by the pool. Other daytime activities included guest lectures, spa treatments, exercising in the health club, checking/sending email, or playing cards.

With four sea days, we also had time to enjoy our suite when it rained. All of the staterooms on the ship are ocean-view suites, and most of the suites have balconies. The smallest suite is a spacious 301 square feet!

The Seven Seas Navigator has several bar lounges in which to enjoy a drink or meet new friends. The ship also has a show lounge with nightly entertainment.

Of course my favorite activity onboard the ship was enjoying the dining options. The main dining room is called the Compass Rose, and the Italian specialty restaurant is the Portofino Grill. These two restaurants are certainly a treat! The Seven Seas Navigator also has a pool side grill for those not wanting to stray far from the pool area, and 24-hour room service for those not wanting to stray far from their balcony.

No matter what I did when the ship was at sea, I had a relaxing, enjoyable day.
