My husband and I discovered cruising 7 years ago. Six have been on Royal Caribbean and one on Norwegian Cruise Line. We tend to like the smaller ships so were reluctant to try the larger "Voyager" class ships. I read mixed reviews on the Navigator of The Seas, most thought the crew wonderful, the service excellent, the accommodations good, and the food terrible. Food is an important part of the cruise experience, but we decided to go on a back to back cruise, which would give us 9 days at sea.
This was the best experience we have had so far. The service was incredible, from our room attendant Bobby to the Purser. The room was more than adequate and bigger than we've experienced before. The crew went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The food was excellent. We found ourselves eating every meal in the Windjammer and Jade because the selection was so great we didn't want to miss anything. We like Asian/Mediterranean food and there was plenty to chose from. We thought the big ship would give us a crowded feeling, and that we would be fighting for deck chairs and seats at the show, (this is something that we have experienced on the smaller ships), but that was not the case. In fact one evening while watching the sunset on the promenade deck, my husband commented on the fact that it felt like we were on our own private island. We would gladly go back on this ship. My disappointment is that they don't go on longer cruises than 5 day trips in the Caribbean and we like the longer than 7 day experience, that's why we did a back to back. Hope this helps someone.
