The Norwegian Gem cruise ship has over 30 cabin and suite categories and at least a dozen distinctly different types of cabins, including 27 that are wheelchair-accessible. The cabins range from the luxurious 5000 square-foot Garden Villas, to the 143 square-foot inside staterooms. There is something for every person's budget!
On our short preview cruise on the Norwegian Gem, I had an opportunity to tour many different cabins. The Garden Villas and Deluxe Owner's Suites are really spectacular, and one could easily spend a couple of weeks in one of these suites without ever leaving. The garden courtyard is designed to provide a "ship within a ship" ambiance for passengers, and it feels like a small luxury ship. The advantage is passengers can leave the intimate courtyard area for the casino, theater, and numerous bars and restaurants, which are the pluses of a big ship.
