The Jewel of the Seas cruise to the British Isles and Norwegian fjords had a half-day in Dublin, and many passengers did what we did - rode the shuttle bus into town and walked around the old city, enjoying the sights of the central city and taking time for a glass of Guinness.
We started our walking tour at famous Trinity College, which was founded in 1592. Lucky for us, it was a June graduation day, and students in their caps and gowns were joined by smiling families. The Book of Kells, one of the world's most famous manuscripts, is held in the Old Library of Trinity College. We continued our walk past Dublin Castle to Christchurch Cathedral and through Temple Bar. Strolling along the pedestrian portion of Grafton Street, we took time out to sit outside and enjoy a pint of Guinness before returning to the bus. It was a great way to see a small portion of this fascinating city.
