Atlantic Canada Ports of Call in Nova Scotia

By , About.com Guide

Cruises to New England and Atlantic Canada usually stopover in Nova Scotia. This Canadian province is spectacular, with rocky beaches, wind-swept shores, and rolling hills.

Most cruise ships visit the capital city of Halifax, and visitors can tour the city and see the museums, stroll the boardwalk, or take a drive through the countryside to the quaint fishing village of Peggy's Cove.

Some ships stop at Louisbourg on Cape Breton Island so that guests can visit the re-created 18th century fortress, which is a national historic site.
