The MSC Splendida has a half-dozen dining options. Since MSC Cruises is an Italian cruise line, it is not surprising that the cruise ship has an excellent a la carte specialty restaurant, L'Olivo, which serves dishes from all the countries bordering the Mediterranean.
While the food in L'Olivo was excellent, the rest of the ship's food was good, but not outstanding. As I have found on other large cruise ships, some dishes were exceptional, others just average.
Passengers on the MSC Splendida have two main restaurants with Italian service and cuisne--La Reggia and Villa Verde. These dining venues have two traditional seatings for dinner--at 7:00 pm and 9:30 pm. There is no open seating for dinner. La Reggia and Villa Verde also serve breakfast and lunch.
The MSC Splendida also has a casual Tex Mex restaurant with a surcharge called Sante Fe. It was a nice change in cuisine.
Bora Bora and Pago Pago are the buffet cafeterias, and they were usually loud and busy.
