By , About.com Guide

The MSC Lirica was built by MSC Cruises in 2003 and is almost identical to her sister ship, the MSC Opera lauched in 2007. The MSC Armonia (2004) and MSC Sinfonia (2005) are slightly different, but are also considered in the MSC Lirica class. All four ships were built in France by Chantiers de l'Atlantique.

At 59,000 tons and carrying 1,560 passengers on 10 decks, the MSC Lirica almost falls into the mid-sized ship category, but she has many large cruise ship amenities. The ship has two main dining rooms, a specialty Italian restaurant, and a buffet cafeteria. Cabins are of four types--suites, outside cabins with balcony, outside cabin without balcony, and inside cabins. The MSC Lirica has a full spa and fitness center, and numerous lounges, a casino, and a shopping gallery.
