MSC Fantasia

MSC Cruises' Flagship the MSC Fantasia

By , About.com Guide

The MSC Fantasia joined the MSC Cruises' fleet in December 2008. The new ship is the largest cruise ship ever built for a European cruise line. The MSC Fantasia has 1,637 staterooms, 80 percent oceanview, many with private balconies.

The interior is somewhat similar to its smaller sisters, the MSC Orchestra and MSC Lirica, but with several enhancements and additions. The MSC Fantasia Acqua Park features 150 illuminated musical fountains, and the theater seats 1,700 with live entertainment each night. The ship even has an interactive 4-D cinema, and the children's pool has a water slide. Those who love speed (even the simulated kind) can test their skills on the Formula 1 race car simulator.

The most appealing feature is the addition of 99 MSC Yacht Club suites. Guests in these suites will enjoy full butler service, a private skydome pool, and an exclusive Observation Lounge. The MSC Yacht Club suites are on parts of two decks and are linked by a magnificent Swarkovski crystal staircase.
