Our first stop on the tour was the old Our Lady of Loreto Mission, which is the oldest mission in all the Californias. First established in 1697, the mission has withstood natural disasters, wars, and time. It was a Sunday morning, so we did not get to enter the church, so we used the extra time before lunch for shopping in the small tourists shops nearby. Our small group reconvened at El Canipole Mexican Restaurant, which was just around the corner from the mission. We had a great time making our own tortillas and cerviche. It was a perfect ending to our wonderful cruise. These photos of the mission, shopping street, and El Canipole provide a small peek at Loreto.
