The ride lasted about an hour and a half, and the trail took us up out of the bay to the nearby desert. Along the way, we saw many cows, a small old cemetery, and a few ranch buildings. Mostly we just enjoyed seeing the Baja Mexico countryside without having to hike! The last part of the trail was very steep. Our trusty steeds climbed up a steep hill, and we dismounted in order to absorb the fantastic views of the desert, Puerto Agua Verde, and the Sea of Cortez. The even steeper ride down the hill to the bay was a little scary, but we all arrived safely.
Agua Verde is popular with campers, sailboats, and kayaking expeditions, and we shared our anchorage with other travelers.
