As you carefully walk around the top of the Acropolis in Athens avoiding the many rocks and uneven steps, be sure to look to the northeast, and you will see a tree-covered hill. Lycabettus Hill (sometimes referred to as Likavitos) is the tallest hill in Athens, and can be seen easily from the top of the Acropolis. The hill is a popular tourist destination in itself and can be climbed using a funicular railway from Kolonaki.
