Capri - Italian Island Off the Amalfi Coast

Capri Is Small Jewel in the Mediterranean

By , About.com Guide

Capri is a small island off the spectacular Amalfi coast of Italy. Cruise ships porting in Naples often include a visit to Capri as a shore excursion. The island is reached from Naples via a 50-minute boat ride. Ferries to Capri are frequent, so you can go on your own, but you run the risk of missing your ship's departure if the return ferries from Capri to Naples are late or cancelled. This is one excursion that I would recommend that you take the cruise ship sponsored boat ride to Capri.

Once you arrive in Capri, you will need to ride the funicular train from the Marina Grande up to the town of Capri. The views of the island and surrounding rocks are amazing, and I think you will agree that the boat trip is worth it!
