The opening day of the 2006 Cannes Film Festival coincided with a day in the port of Cannes on our May 2006 Carnival Liberty cruise ship Mediterranean cruise. These pictures show some of the last minute preparations for the 2006 Cannes Film Festival and how the small city of Cannes looks a little different during these two weeks in May than it does the rest of the year.
