Kusadasi has about 50,000 people, and most shore excursions allow plenty of time for shopping for leather, rugs, jewelry and other bargains. If you hate to haggle, you will hate shopping in Kusadasi. The shopkeepers are beyond aggressive. Just look at the shopping process in Kusadasi as a game, and you will come home with some good quality merchandise at a great price. I bought a very soft, lightweight leather jacket for less than half what it would cost at home. I was wooed, offered tea, and made to feel like a queen, but came away with a great purchase. The rug shopping was way too complicated for me (too many choices, and too much variety in price and quality), but those who had done their research were happy with the rugs they shipped home.
