Carnival Cruise Lines is the world's largest cruise line. Carnival was founded in 1972 and currently operates 22 cruise ships. The ships primarily sail to the Bahamas and the Caribbean from several ports in the southern United States, but Carnival also cruises in Europe, the Mexican Riviera, Alaska, Hawaii, and New England/Atlantic Canada. The newest Carnival ship, the Carnival Dream, will be based at Port Canaveral, Florida, after she is launched in the fall of 2009. Here is a list of the Carnival ships, along with their build date and current itineraries (as of July 2008).

  • Holiday (1985) - Western Caribbean from Mobile, AL

  • Fantasy (1990) - Western Caribbean from New Orleans, LA

  • Ecstasy (1991) - Western Caribbean from Galveston, TX

  • Sensation (1993) - Bahamas from Port Canaveral, FL

  • Fascination (1994) - Bahamas from Jacksonville, FL

  • Imagination (1995) - Western or Eastern Caribbean from Miami, FL

  • Inspiration (1996) - Western Caribbean from Tampa, FL

  • Carnival Destiny (1996) - Caribbean from Miami, FL

  • Elation (1998) - Baja Mexico from San Diego, CA

  • Paradise (1998) - Baja Mexico from Los Angeles, CA

  • Carnival Triumph (1999) - Caribbean from Miami, FL

  • Carnival Victory (2000) - Various itineraries, including New England and Canada from New York and the Caribbean from San Juan or Barbados

  • Carnival Spirit (2001) - Various itineraries, including Alaska, Hawaii, and the Mexican Riviera

  • Carnival Conquest (2002) - Western Caribbean from Galveston, TX

  • Carnival Pride (2002) - Various itineraries, including the Mexican Riviera from Los Angeles, CA and the Caribbean from Miami, FL

  • Carnival Legend (2002) - Western Caribbean from Tampa, FL

  • Carnival Glory (2003) - Eastern or Western Caribbean from Port Canaveral, FL

  • Carnival Miracle (2004) - Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale or New York City

  • Carnival Valor(2004) - Eastern or Western Caribbean from Miami, FL

  • Carnival Liberty (2005) - Various itineraries, including Europe from Dover, UK and the Caribbean from Miami, FL

  • Carnival Freedom (2007) - Various itineraries including the Mediterranean from Rome, Italy and the Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale, FL

  • Carnival Splendor (2008) - Various itineraries, including northern Europe from Dover, the Mediterranean from Rome, the Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale, and the Mexican Riviera from Los Angeles or Long Beach, CA
