Carnival Cruise Lines is the world's largest cruise line. Carnival was founded in 1972 and currently operates 22 cruise ships. The ships primarily sail to the Bahamas and the Caribbean from several ports in the southern United States, but Carnival also cruises in Europe, the Mexican Riviera, Alaska, Hawaii, and New England/Atlantic Canada. The newest Carnival ship, the Carnival Dream, will be based at Port Canaveral, Florida, after she is launched in the fall of 2009.
