Many cruise ships include Cadiz, Spain as a port of call on cruises from the Mediterranean to Lisbon or northern Europe. Cadiz is the port closest to the city of Seville, one of Spain's favorite tourist destinations.
In addition to Seville, cruise passengers have other shore excursion options from Cadiz. We did a wonderful excursion in Cadiz from the Crystal Symphony to the interesting city of Jerez de la Frontera. While in Jerez, we did three different activities. First, we visited the John Harvey Winery, home of the famous Harvey's Bristol Cream sherry. Next, we went to a horse show at the Royal School of Equestrian Art, where we saw the marvelous dancing Andalusian horses and their superb riders. Finally, we had a traditional Spanish lunch of paella at the Bullfighting Museum of Jerez. All in all, it was a great day and a great shore excursion from Cadiz.
