Like most cruise ship spas, the Emerald Princess Lotus Spa is operated by Steiner Leisure. A spa visit can be costly, but it is a treat that many cruise passengers do not have the time to enjoy when at home. The Lotus Spa offers all of the standard treatments, ranging (literally) from head to toe. Hair treatments, facials, manicures, pedicures, massages, and detoxifying body therapies of all sorts are on the menu. Prices are also comparable to those found on other ships, with specials usually found on port days. If you love to go to the spa, it is important to book early, especially if you want a spa treatment at a certain time or on a sea day.

One trend seems to be towards treatments for men and couples. The Emerald Princess has couples rituals with full body massages and/or exotic bathing rituals. Men's treatments include massages, facials, and special shaves.

The Emerald Princess fitness center offers cruisers the opportunity to maintain (or improve) their fitness level when at sea. The gym overlooks the front of the ship, and you get a great seaview when walking on the treadmill. The fitness center has several free classes each day and specialized classes in yoga, pilates, and spinning, which have a fee.

One new feature in the Lotus Spa is the Lotus Thermal Sanctuary Suite, which includes thermal grottos, aromatic steam chambers, sauna suites, and heated stone benches. Passes to this thermal suite are sold for the entire cruise.
