Summary
In summary, the Emerald Princess is a beautiful new ship, with all the amenities you would expect from a large cruise ship, some of which I haven't even touched on here or in the other features on the Emerald Princess, including a large casino and an excellent kids' program. Princess has enhanced some of the aspects of the ship, including the cuisine, by adding some exciting new programs such as the Chef's Table. The cruise line has also added new luxury venues like the Sanctuary.
All in all, this ship is a great choice for those who enjoy large ship cruising at an affordable price. Many of the amenities cost extra, but this "a la carte presentation" of an amazing array of luxury add-ons allows average cruisers to pick and choose those that are enticing to their interests, while allowing the cruise line to keep the basic (room, board, and cruise transportation) price low for those on a tighter budget.
Beginning in October 2009, the Emerald Princess will sail the Caribbean year-round. See your travel agent or visit the Princess Cruises' Web site for more information on the Emerald Princess.
