Day at Sea on the Disney Magic

The Disney Magic headed north from St. Thomas for the Bahamas. We enjoyed our last sea day on the ship by reading, relaxing, and sitting in the sun by the adult pool. Juanda found time to go to the spa for a facial and time at the rain forest. We continued to be delighted by the number of activities for adults. The kids have so many scheduled events that they aren't seen nearly as much as we feared. Keeping them occupied and having full-time counselors helps a lot.

The show was another great one, with a dreams theme. It featured Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, many of the characters, and a message for all who were there - your dreams can come true if you have faith, trust, and a little pixie dust. Wish it applied to the stock market.

Castaway Cay - Disney Cruise Line Private Island

Our last day on the ship we were docked at Castaway Cay. I'm sure this stop was a highlight for many of the passengers. The island is one of the best organized and laid out private islands I've seen, with beautiful beaches and many activities.

The ship is able to dock, rather than use a tender, which makes disembarking and boarding much easier. We walked on the beach, browsed the shops, and participated in the stingray adventure. This extra-fee tour involved a short lecture about stingrays followed by the opportunity to pet, feed, and snorkel with them.

After our time with the stingrays, we rode the free tram to the adults-only beach for a delicious barbecue lunch and time in the sun.
The day at Castaway Cay was over all too early.

Goodbye, Mickey

We gathered in the lobby the last night to join the Disney characters in singing the "goodbye song" from the Mickey Mouse Club. We put our checked luggage outside the room, and were told to not worry about it until we got back home.

The disembarkation was as organized as embarkation. We ate breakfast, boarded the bus for the airport, and flew home. "Faith, trust and pixie dust" helped our luggage find us in Atlanta. Thanks, Mickey for a great cruise!
