Disney Dream Sails into Port Canaveral for the First Time

New Disney Cruise Line Ship Arrives in USA from Germany

By , About.com Guide

The Disney Dream was greeted to the USA by fireworks and even Mickey Mouse himself when it arrived in Port Canaveral, Florida for the first time on January 4, 2011. The ship had traveled about 6,500 miles across the Atlantic from the shipyard in Germany.

The new Disney Dream will sail three-, four- and five-night cruises to the Bahamas and Disney’s private island Castaway Cay, from Port Canaveral. The 4,000-passenger Disney Dream features AquaDuck, a shipboard water coaster, magical portholes in inside staterooms that provide passengers with a real-time view outside the ship, rotational dining, Disney-themed children's spaces and more, including those marvelous Disney characters.
