Fort Lauderdale - Popular Cruise Ship Embarkation Port

From Linda Garrison, About.com

Fort Lauderdale, Florida is one of the most popular embarkation points for cruise ships sailing from South Florida. The cruise ship pier is located at Port Everglades, just a few minutes' ride from the Fort Lauderdale Airport.

These pictures were taken from the Seven Seas Mariner cruise ship while we were waiting to sail. Passengers grazed at a delicious buffet lunch outside on the deck at La Veranda Restaurant and enjoyed watching all the ships and boats come by. It was a beautiful afternoon, and the excitement ran high on the ship as she prepared to sail on a 62-day voyage roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale. The Seven Seas Mariner would stop at many ports of call in the Caribbean, Atlantic, and Pacific Oceans as she sailed around the tip of South America before returning through the Panama Canal back to Fort Lauderdale.
