The Crystal Dining Room is the main dining room on the Crystal Symphony. It features open seating for breakfast and lunch, and two seatings for dinner--the first at 6:15, and the second at 8:30.

The Crystal Dining Room is one of the most elegant rooms at sea, with beautiful table settings and large windows. I loved the china pattern, and the ancient map motif was perfect for travelers. Tables are set for 2, 4, 6, or 8, and passengers can request the table size and seating time.

The menus in the Crystal Symphony Dining Room should suit anyone's taste. The left side of the menu always listed the following options:

  • Chef's suggestions
  • On the lighter side
  • Vegetarian selections
  • Low-carb choices
  • Head sommelier's suggestions
My mother, who is not a big eater, loved the "on the lighter side" because the portion sizes suited her small appetite.

The right side of the menu listed the standard menu -- appetizers, soup and salad, pasta special, salad entree, main fares, traditional main fares, and side orders. There was always an appetizing fish, beef, and chicken dish.

The dessert menu was a much anticipated delight, with

  • interesting sweet concoctions
  • ice cream, frozen yogurt, sherbet, or
  • the cheese trolley
available at each dinner. We would all say we were too full for dessert, but then changed our minds when we saw the irrestible choices.

An excellent selection of wine is available by the bottle or the glass, with most at reasonable prices.
