The elegant dining room on the SeaDream I is candlelit and features wonderful china and crystal. Dinner is definitely the main evening event on the small ship. Dress is "yacht casual", (no blue jeans or shorts) which contributes to the relaxed, yet elegant atmosphere. Although dinner is open seating and is served from 7:30-9:30, most passengers begin their dining experience from 7:30 to 8:00 and end about 9:00 or 9:30. I love leisurely dining on a cruise, and many others must too, since everyone seemed to have a good time at dinner as they awaited the next course. The European service on the SeaDream I was impeccable, and the wait staff seemed to enjoy their jobs as much as we enjoyed our dinners. Tables could be set for 2, 4, 6, or 8 people. The table settings were lovely and the cuisine was a good match for the beautiful setting. The food was served cooked to order, and the temperature was always steaming hot or chilled (as appropriate).
