The New7Wonders Foundation conducted a New7Wonders of Nature competition. The natural wonders of the world list began as 261 qualified national and multinational nominees from 222 countries. Many of these world-class sites are accessible via cruise ship or cruise tour extension.

The New7Wonders of Nature is a follow-up popularity contest to the New7Wonders of the World, which were announced in July 2007. These seven man-made sites, selected from 21 finalists and representing global heritage throughout history, were selected after over 100 million votes were cast online.

Personally, I was surprised to see some of my USA favorites excluded from the list like Mendenhall Glacier in Alaska, the Florida Everglades, Yellowstone National Park, and the Napali coast of Kauai.
