Costa Cruises' Ship Is Most Exclusive and Innovative in the Fleet

By , About.com Guide

The Costa Deliziosa was christened in Dubai in February 2010. The 92,600-ton cruise ship can carry 2,826 guests in 1,130 cabins, and is a sister ship to the Costa Luminosa launched in 2009. This Costa ship was built for the high-end customer and features beautiful interiors, 340 pieces of original artwork, and many opportunities for onboard entertainment. Behind the scenes, the Costa Deliziosa includes features that help protect the environment and conserve energy. The ship is equipped with "cold ironing" that allows it to plug into shoreside electricity and shut down its generators. It also has 100 percent waste separation, recycling, and desalination plants to produce fresh water.

Whereas the theme of the Costa Luminosa is the "ship of light", the Costa Deliziosa is the "ship of pleasure". These 36 photos and this overview of the Costa Deliziosa demonstrate the beauty of Costa's flagship.
