Costa Mediterranea Cruise Review
Eastern Caribbean Cruise on the Costa Mediterranea

From Juergen Haar, for About.com

Cruise Line: Costa Cruises
Cruise Ship: Costa Mediterranea
Cruise Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Cruise Dates: March 25 - April 1, 2007
Guest Contributor: Juergen Haar

We had a lovely cruise, the ship is very European, the decoration a little over the top, but we loved it. We had heard that the Costa food is not as good as on other cruise lines, which is absolutely not true, we think it even surpasses other lines a bit.

Gabriele the cruise director was a bit neurotic, the stops were ok, only in La Romana it was raining, and we did not get off the ship. We liked the show, especially the tenor, Edmondo Rahme. He sang up a storm, and the audience went wild. We have seldom heard a singer of such a caliber, his pop songs where as good as the opera songs. My God, what a voice. Costa should be happy to have him, as we all were. Embarcation and disembarcation was a little chaotic, but that was ok.

All in all we loved it, we got the entertainment treat of the tenor Edmondo Rahme, and enjoyed the food very much. Especially the gala dinner was to be remembered. We shall come back to Costa and this ship.
