The Celebrity Eclipse is the third in a series of five Celebrity ships in the Solstice class. She was launched in April 2010 and joined her two older sisters--the Celebrity Solstice (2008) and Celebrity Equinox (2009)--and the rest of the Celebrity fleet. The fourth ship in the Solstice class, the Celebrity Silhouette, launched in the summer of 2011, and the fifth, Celebrity Reflection, launched in 2012.
Meyer Werft shipyards in Germany built all five ships.
The 122,000-ton Celebrity Eclipse carries 2,850 passengers and about 1,250 crew. The ship has 18 retail shops, including glass merchandise from The Corning Museum of Glass and Riedel Gallery. In addition, one of the onboard shops specializes in authentic local artisan crafts, and the Celebrity iLounge has Apple products for sale.

I sailed on a two-night preview cruise on the new Celebrity Eclipse soon after she arrived in the USA for the first time. The Celebrity Eclipse is almost identical in layout and common areas to the beautiful and popular Celebrity Solstice and Celebrity Equinox. However, as would be expected, Celebrity Cruises has made a few enhancements and modifications to this ship, such as the dining options, AquaSpa, and new iLounge, which are described on the following pages, along with the cabins and suites on the ship.
