Just to let you know a little bit about myself. I am 26 years old and this is my 3rd Carnival cruise. I traveled with my husband, my sister and brother-in-law, my parents, and my in-laws.

We arrived in Ft. Lauderdale the day before we cruised. Stayed at the Comfort Inn Airport/Cruiseport South. They had a free shuttle that picked us up at the airport about 20 minutes after we called them when we arrived at the airport. I did not think that was too bad. The hotel was nice and clean. Everyone was very helpful. Went to a restaurant called Dave & Busters for supper. I would recommend going here if you are in this area. They had pool tables, shuffleboard tables, and a huge arcade. Great for all ages. The breakfast at the hotel was wonderful, made to order omelets by the pool. Great pre-cruise place to stay.

Wednesday 2/23-Embarkation Day for the Carnival Legend
The morning at the hotel was a little confusing for some people. There was an early shuttle at 10:30am and a later shuttle that left sometime around 11:00 or so. There were people waiting for the later shuttle with the 10:30 group. This was not the hotel's fault, just the people who could not follow directions. Got to the cruiseport in good time. There was a long line already. They split us into two lines, one for U.S. citizens, and one for non U.S. citizens.

That was pointless because eventually we all became one line. After that it flowed smoothly. We were on the ship by 1:00 or so. We weren't able to go to our cabins yet so we toured the ship. Very beautiful as usual. I have been on the Elation (2000) and the Victory (2002), both ships equally beautiful. I prefer this size of ship over the Victory class. I don't care for the tiers of lounge chairs. The layout of the Legend was great. The decor had a lot of urns, but you didn't notice after the first day. Finally got to go see our cabins. We were on 8A cabins 4156,4159,4172 and 4177 all with balconies. Great rooms, nicely decorated. We got all our luggage before our late seating dinner. Lifeboat drill went quick and we were on our way. Bye-Bye Ft. Lauderdale.

Thursday/Friday 2-24,25 Days At Sea on the Carnival Legend
Had to be up early if you wanted a lounge chair. Although by noon or so more opened up. Lots of activities to get involved in on the Lido deck and in the show lounge. We relaxed, ate, and relaxed some more. Just enjoyed the beautiful weather. Loved the hot tubs. There was always room in there. The 24-hour pizza was wonderful. The ice cream was grainy though.

Saturday 2/26 St. Maarten/St. Martin from the Carnival Legend
Probably our most favorite port of this cruise. Took the water taxi to the center of town, much better than walking. Lots of shops here with decent prices. My sister and I shopped while our husbands rented scooters (even though Carnival recommended we didn't....men!) When we were done shopping we hitched a ride on the scooters for a trip back to the ship to get beach gear. Then we headed to Orient Beach on the scooters, what a great way to see the island even though we had to wear helmets on the French side. Orient Beach was very nice and clean. Lots of activities. Water was perfect. Of course we had to venture to the South end (nudist) like I'm sure others did. Felt a little out of place in a bathing suit but no one seemed to notice. People were very friendly on this island and most spoke English at least on the Dutch side. This was a very pretty island with lots of flowers. I would liked to have had more time on this island. Would definetly go back again!

Sunday 2/27-Barbados from the Carnival Legend
Didn't arrive until noon on a Sunday. Most everything was closed except at the ship terminal. We got tourist info on renting four-wheelers and that is what we did. Booked ATV Quest tour at the terminal, not on the ship. Saved about $30 this way. People were very friendly and helpful on this island. Had a great time on the four-wheeler tour. We were back on the ship by 5-5:30pm and didn't set sail until 10:00pm. Nothing left to do on the island being Sunday, everything was closed. Wish we could have enjoyed this island on a different day.
