Porto Venere - Ligurian Coast - Italy

This beautiful village offers many opportunities for exploration.   It also is a good starting point for exploring the Cinque Terre (Five Lands).  Ferries leave the village daily for the Cinque Terre, but Porto Venere is worth spending some time before you sail.  Some cruise ships also include Porto Venere as a port of call.
