The stadium in ancient Olympia did not have grandstands as we do in today's stadiums. Spectators sat on the hillside and watched the nude male athletes heavily greased with olive oil compete on the field below. If you squint a little and use your imagination, you might be able to see the action! See the next picture for more of the stadium events.
