Sailing the Greek Isles on the Silversea Silver Shadow - Santorini

Don't the city of Fira and the island of Santorini look much different in the afternoon? The previous photo was taken at dawn and this one in the late afternoon. Cruise ships usually sail into the ancient volcanic crater of Santorini in the early morning and leave late in the day or after dark.  Note the donkey trail snaking its way up the side of the volcano. Visitors to Fira can either take a tender ashore further down the island where a bus is available to the city, or ride a donkey or a cable car up the side of the cliff.
