Sailing the Greek Isles on the Silversea Silver Shadow - Santorini

Our first look at Fira on Santorini was in the early dawn.  The city sits on the eastern side of the volcanic crater overlooking the caldera. Cruise ships like the Silversea Silver Shadow sail right into this ancient volcano, which last erupted in 1500 BC. The volcanic crater serves as the island's harbor. The city is shrouded in the early morning shade in this picture. The next photo shows Fira in the late afternoon sun.
