Netherlands - Sailing to Volendam from Amsterdam

The "Dolly Parton" bridge is aptly named. This bridge connects Amsterdam to a huge new community that has been built on reclaimed land. In a few years, the new island will be covered with apartments, shops, and businesses. This modernistic bridge is all that was completed when we visited in 2002.
