Normandy - Northern Europe - Cruise to the Baltic
Pointe du Hoc, Normandy, site of ferocious fighting during World War II. Authorities have cordoned off the edge of the cliffs with barbed wire due to the danger of falling. The barbed wire gives the whole area an eerie feeling. After leaving Pointe du Hoc, we board the bus for the long drive back to the ship. We had less than 24 hours in France, and were awed by the stories from the Normandy World War II beaches. Next stop is Bruges, Belgium.
