Guide Review
Offbeat Cruises and Excursions
Mr. Barnes traveled the world during the 50 years he worked for the Automobile Club of Michigan. This book is a compendium of some of the fascinating and out of the ordinary cruises he took and places he visited. He certainly reinforces the idea that much of the world is accessible via cruise ship. I found the book very interesting to get ideas for cruise destinations, but since the information is so summarized, it is not really a "guidebook" (nor is it meant to be). The book gives you a small taste of two dozen different cruise destinations. Some of these you may have never considered, but after reading Mr. Barnes' tidbits, the cruise world expands!
