Sailing the Mediterranean on the R6

My wife and I boarded the R-6 looking forward to a lavish, fun cruise. This did not happen. We will not book with Renaissance again. The ship was very clean, well laid out and the Suites were very comfortable. The lower rated crew members were very friendly & helpful. The higher rated crew members (tour & reception desks) were not helpful and seemed upset you were bothering them with some question, in general not friendly at all.
The food was poor to fair. When on previous cruises we always looked forward to the meals, not this time. The food was well presented, in general no flavor, tough meat and mushy fish. It appeared most of the food was prepared else where, frozen then defrosted and served aboard ship. This includes the desserts. The breads were very good, thank goodness. I filled up on them. The waiters were very rushed, because of this the service was well below par. The Maitre’ds all acted like they were doing you a favor.
They also charge extra for everything, they seemed to be more concerned about selling you something then making you feel welcome. Every night you received the Good Times news letter, it was like getting the Daily Shopper.
We did enjoy the ports of call and the tours over all were good.
