The second Princess ship to be launched in 2003 is the Island Princess. She takes her name from one of the line's original Love Boats, and is French-built like her sister ship the Coral Princess. Island Princess passengers will enjoy many of Princess’ famed Personal Choice Cruising options and services, along with some exciting new features. Island Princess will bring a new style of cruising to the Panama Canal and Alaska.

Specially designed to traverse the Canal and the Gulf of Alaska, Island Princess offers passengers the many distinctive Personal Choice Cruising options available on the line's larger vessels. They feature three distinctive show lounges, including the two-story interactive Universe Lounge, as well as a Personal Choice Dining lineup comprised of two main dining rooms, along with several alternative options. Choices include the popular Sabatini's Italian trattoria and the Bayou Café, cruising's first New Orleans-style restaurant. In addition, passengers will find a variety of new gathering places, including a cigar lounge and a 1960s retro martini bar -- both firsts for Princess.
