New Carnival Glory Sails from Port Canaveral

By Linda Garrison, About.com

The new 110,000-ton Carnival Glory became Port Canaveral's largest cruise ship when it sailed for the first time in July 2003. This 2,974-passenger 'Fun Ship' features year-round seven-day Caribbean cruises from the central Florida port encompassing alternating eastern and western Caribbean voyages departing every Saturday.

Carnival Glory eastern Caribbean cruises call at Nassau, St. Thomas/St. John, and St. Maarten, while western Caribbean voyages include Key West, Fla.; Belize City, Belize; and Cozumel and Progreso/Merida, Mexico.

The Carnival Glory joins her sister Carnival ship in the Conquest class - the Carnival Conquest. A third Conquest class ship, the Carnival Valor, was launched in the summer of 2004, followed by two other ships in the Conquest class - the Carnival Liberty, launched in 2006 and the Carnival Freedom, launched in 2007.
