Antwerp is a medieval city on the Scheldt River. Cruise ships use Antwerpen (Flemish) as a port of call and an easy gateway to Brussels (30 miles), Ghent (30 miles), or Bruges (65 miles). Ships can dock near the city center, and the old town and market are an easy walk from the pier. Antwerp is an interesting city in itself, and well worth a day trip for cruise visitors.
