Princess Family Extras

By Linda Garrison, About.com

Princess Extras
  • Save Our Seas
We have teamed up with a fun environmental program called Save Our Seas, created by the California Coastal Commission and the Center for Marine Conservation. Kids can participate in activities specially designed to teach them about the oceans and marine life.
  • Pelican's Perch
Kids can make the most of their island adventure in this supervised play area on our own private island, Princess Cays.® This special playground is supervised by the shipboard Youth Staff and provides a safe place for children while parents enjoy the many beach amenities and water sports offered. Pelican's Perch is open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Shore Happenings
Drop anchor and your kids will find as much to do on land as there is on board. The Adventures Ashore Program offers tours appealing to explorers of all ages.
  • Pizza Party
One night during the cruise, a pizza party is offered which lets children dine without parents in the company of all their friends.
  • Children's TV Programming
TV programs appropriate for children, including cartoons, movies and award-winning programs may be shown on the in-stateroom television during the early morning hours, midday and early evening on Sun, Dawn, Sea, Ocean, Grand, Golden, Coral, Diamond, Island, and Star Princess. On Crown, Regal, Royal, Tahitian, and Pacific Princess, children's programs may run during summer and school holidays when 20 or more children sail.

Family Cruising Tips
Personal Choice Dining is recommended for families who want to dine together so that children may fully participate in the evening youth activities that start at 7:00 p.m.

The dining alternatives aboard Regal, Crown, Sun, Dawn, Sea, Ocean, Grand, Coral, Diamond, Island, Golden and Star Princess allow parents the freedom to spend time with their children while they eat an early dinner in the pizzeria, in the 24-hour restaurant offering a special children's menu, in the stateroom with 24-hour room service or in one of our many alternative locations. After taking the children to the supervised Youth Center, parents can then enjoy dining on their own in the elegant dining rooms. Many of our shore excursions have been planned with family cruisers in mind. Discounted rates for children and "family-friendly" activities are available to make the most of your time in port. Please see your Adventures Ashore brochure for details.

On embarkation day, the kid's schedule of activities for the entire cruise will be delivered to your stateroom. If you need more than one copy, please advise your Youth Activities Coordinator.
