Princess Cruise Line Kids' Program

Princess Cruise Line Welcomes Family Cruisers

By Linda Garrison, About.com

Princess has a special place in their hearts for kids aboard their ships. Now more than ever! Nearly every ship in the fleet has a dedicated Youth and Teen Center with oceans of activities offered and supervised by our professional staff. The following information details why cruising is kid's play with Princess.

A Boatload of Fun
When you cruise on Crown, Regal, Sun, Dawn, Ocean, Sea, Grand, Golden, Coral, Island, Diamond, and Star Princess, you will find completely equipped Youth and Teen Centers. There is everything from arts and crafts corners, games tables, movies and splash pools to Teen Centers with ping-pong tables, jukeboxes and all the latest video games.

The Sun, Dawn, Sea, Ocean, Grand, Coral, Island, Diamond, Star and Golden Princess even offer a toddlers' play area, a splash pool, computers, and video games. And for teens, special hideouts -Cyberspace, The Fast Lane, Wired and Off Limits - are guaranteed to give them the time of their lives. In addition to all these features, on Grand Princess and Golden Princess, kids will also enjoy their own deck space with a whale's tail splash pool. And teens have a separate jacuzzi and deck area made just for them.

All Youth and Teen Centers are fully supervised by Princess' fun-loving Youth and Teen Staff. Not all kids like to eat grown-up food at mealtime, so we offer a special children's menu. This option is available aboard all Princess ships.

Children are welcome on all Princess ships, but facilities vary. Royal and Pacific Princess do not have dedicated Youth and Teen Centers. However, when 20 or more children ages 3 to 17 are traveling on Royal, Tahitian, or Pacific Princess, children will enjoy a varied schedule of supervised activities organized by a Youth Activities Coordinator.

Raves on the Waves
Tested by thousands of cruise kids, Princess Kids Program has earned rave reviews for cool activities and camaraderie. Princess Pelicans, ages 3-7, and Princess Pirateers, ages 8-12, are entertained with non-stop activities such as:

  • Arts and crafts

  • Videos and cartoons

  • Scavenger hunts

  • Galley tours

  • Sports tournaments

  • Backstage tours

  • Bridge tours

  • Disco nights

  • Ice cream parties

Off Limits, designed for teens ages 13 to 17, offers a wide range of activities such as:

  • Teens-only disco parties

  • Teens-only dinner events

  • Shipboard Olympics

  • T-Shirt painting

  • Basketball tournaments
