We all want to be knowledgeable travelers. It can be very embarrassing to not understand a country's customs, and many of us can remember either some local taboo we've broken when traveling abroad or some myth we thought was a fact. Most of us can also remember some must-see site that was really a travel don't -- not worth the time or the money.

The Guide to Honeymoons and Romantic Getaways has assembled a comprehensive list of travel don'ts and travel myths from her fellow guides on the About.com Travel Channel. For example, concepts like punctuality, tipping, and driving or dining manners are different around the world. The list of links also includes some places to avoid or those that are over-hyped or too touristy. Studying ahead will certainly make you a more knowledgeable traveler and your vacation experience more enjoyable.
